yesterdays marine park trip

Angthong national marine park consists of 40 islands, spread over approximately 97 square miles in the Gulf of Thailand, they are characterized by hundreds of limestone monoliths, carved into fantastic shapes by years of erosion, the islands are engulfed in tropical rainforests and secluded sandy beaches. The 2 dive sites that we commonly dive are Koh Yippon yai and Koh Yippon lec,

amazing swim throughs

yesterdays dive here was fantastic with 25m visibility and flat seas, here you will see some of the gulf of Thailand’s most beautiful coral and rock formations.

  1. ARe the seas this time of year too rough and cloudy for snorkeling? Will be there June 18? How long a boat trip is it to the national marine park from Wat Suanmonk? from Koh Samui?

  2. Hi there,
OK normally June until September is great for diving and snorkeling, at the moment its quite windy which is unusual for this time of year, the monsoon season starts anytime from late October until December and normally lasts 4 to 6 weeks. for a trip from Koh samui to the marine park you are looking at anything from 1 to 2 and a half hours depending on what boat you are on. We are based on koh phangan and it takes us around 1 and a half hours, we also go to the 2 best islands for snorkelling which are Koh yippopn and Koh Wao, so check to see if you are going there. If you need any more info have a look at our website http://www.sailrockdiversresort.com or contact send us a mail and we will be happy to point you in the right direction.
